AN Earby-based insurance company has hailed the success of a charity golf day held at Skipton Golf Club. West Craven Insurance Services held the event last Friday, with the ten competing teams raising £1040 for Pendleside Hospice.
A number of local businesses entered teams, including Silentnight, Auto Legal Protection Services, Gissing and Lonsdale, Wardle Storeys, Petherbridge Bassra Solicitors, Pendle Wealth Management, D James, B Craddock, S Greenwood and West Craven Insurance Services Ltd.
The winning team for the second year running was “Team Boss” consisting of S. Greenwood, D. Sedman, L. Garbutt and M. Whalley.
Following registration players enjoyed a pre-match brunch before taking to the course and proceedings culminated back at the club house with a three course meal and presentation.
West Craven Insurance Service’s Managing Director Ian Clarkson, said: “Everybody really enjoyed the event – it was a great day.”
“West Craven Insurance Services has recently extended its relationship as a sponsor of Skipton Golf Club for another three years and this event cements our continued relationship,” added Mr. Clarkson.
“Our sponsorship of the golf club is part of our support for our community, and so is our continued support for Pendleside hospice, which is why we’re delighted to have raised £1040 to help with the wonderful work they do. This is our third annual golf day and on the back of its success, we’re already planning for next year’s event.”
Christina Cope, Pendleside Hospice’s Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re very grateful for the support offered to us by West Craven Insurance Services. The proceeds of their Golf Day will help support the vital work we do to promote and enhance quality of life for people with a life-limiting illness, and their families.”
